The workshop, held under the patronage of the Polytechnic University of Bari and in collaboration with FormaSicuro – National Joint Body, brought together academics, technical experts, and institutional representatives around two central themes.

The first session focused on regulatory innovation: the draft proposal for amendments to the Consolidated Law on Health and Safety in the Workplace (Legislative Decree 81/08), developed by the Commission of the Ministry of Justice for the “Study on Prevention and Safety in the Workplace”, was presented and discussed.

The session featured the contribution of Sen. Prof. Francesco Paolo Sisto, Deputy Minister of Justice and Professor at the Polytechnic University of Bari, alongside Prof. Emilio Ferrari (University of Bologna) and Prof. Luigi Vimercati (University of Bari), both members of the Ministry Commission.

The second session addressed technological innovation: a new fire risk reduction technology for civil and industrial environments, developed by the Polytechnic University of Bari in collaboration with a local company, was presented by Prof. Salvatore Digiesi (Polytechnic University of Bari), with contributions from Dott. Ing. Marco Di Felice (CNI delegate to the Central Technical Scientific Committee of the Fire Brigade) and Dott. Ing. Rocco Luigi Sassone (President of FormaSicuro).

The event was opened by institutional addresses from Prof. Giovanni Mummolo, President of the Foundation, Prof. Umberto Fratino, Rector of the Polytechnic University of Bari, and other representatives of the engineering and construction sector.

The workshop confirmed workplace safety as one of the most sensitive and widely attended topics at SAIE Bari 2025
