About the Foundation
The European School of Industrial Engineering and Management (ESIEM) is a Foundation dedicated to promoting and advancing higher education in Industrial Engineering & Management. Established within the European Academy for Industrial Management (AIM) — an academic network bringing together professors from 36 universities across 25 European countries — the School represents a strategic initiative backed at institutional level and funded by an Italian State Budget Law.
The Foundation is structured as a Participatory Foundation, with the Polytechnic University of Bari as its founding member, the European Academy for Industrial Management and the European Students of Industrial Engineering and Management a supporting member, alongside European industrial, academic and student partners. ESIEM operates as a European platform open to universities, companies and institutions, with the aim of building a collaborative ecosystem for the development of human capital and innovation.

Poliba is a public technical university founded in 1990, offering programmes in engineering, architecture, and design. One of southern Italy’s leading institutions for innovation and research, it bridges academia, industry, and the territory across its campuses in Bari and Taranto. Through strong partnerships with public and private organisations, it drives technological development and talent formation in the Puglia region and the wider Mediterranean area.

European Students of Industrial Engineering and Management (IEM) is a network of IEM European Students which develops students, personally and professionally, through events of different types. Fostering relations among +75 European Universities and +26 Countries, ESTIEM has been increasingly focused on improving IEM Education, aiming to become a reference among IEM Europe.

The Foundation Logo
Our Logo includes olive leaves, common plant in Apulia and in the Mediterranean area, with digital-like connections, hair of Goddess Athena. Symbols refer to the green and digital transitions.
According to the myth, Goddess Athena decided to gift an olive tree to Athenians as symbol of peace and prosperity to contrast God Poseidon who decided to gift a Horse to Athenians to win any battle. She wished a world as a pacific garden, a place where humankind foster progress by learning and spreading.
The lighthouse spreads lights of knowledge across Europe and the mediterranean sea.
The Foundation Motto

The Motto is consistent with the strong reference of Higher Education to society challenges suggested in the Knowledge Strategy by the Europen Commission (2020).
A latin motto, an adaptation of the motto attributed to the great Philosoper and Statesman Lucius Annaeus Seneca the Younger,  in his Epistulae morales ad Lucilium (Seneca, Epistulae morales ad Lucilium, XVII-XVIII, 106, 12).
The European School pursues to innovate Higher Education in Industrial Engineering and Management in the view to help people facing with the big challenges of Society with vision, pragmatism, and responsibility.
